About me
John is a geologist who has lived or worked the geology of Australia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Southeast Asia and the Americas. His observations and experiences have evolved into painting and explaining the geological stories beneath our feet.
Geology with art enlivens communication and research. It invites discussion, discovery and story telling. New concepts around earth’s history can be explored. By discussing geology through art and identifying the “known” from the “unknown” there becomes an interplay between observation and story. He unpacks scientific descriptions and models with design, colour and enthusiasm to produce geological art.
John’s mix of geology with art has taken him on a journey beyond the proven and into the missing records. But most of all, he is excited to share the constantly changing relationship he has with the earth.
